what the fuck?

not one of your tracks lives up to be as good as this one. how is that possible? everything about this track is brilliant, man.

v150r responds:

dunno bro, that's a good question. :)

dull

while you have a nice build-up, my opinion is just i dislike your bass melody. it's just boring, nothing spectacular; doesn't catch me so i'll say, "hey, this shit makes me feel something"

i don't know. this is purely an opinion review, sorry. hope you understand

Melophobik responds:

Fair enough, I can't get mad at you for not linking my song :P

And is it the wobble you're talking about? Because you might like the 2nd one that comes in...

sick loop

dubstep artists here seem to know there shit, where dnb people can't do anything but make trance. weird difference, in my opinion.

the one thing i like a lot about this loop is that your bass has a real melody that goes with that plucking instrument. i'm not too familiar with dubstep, but i know classic wobble tracks are nearly random, where as this is pretty catchy.

keep up the good work, man

Fredgy responds:

thanks, i will

interesting

you managed to make the original in the background and pile on other elements for that liquid effect. knights of cydonia isn't at all a calm track, but somehow you pulled it off by changing that completely. seriously nice work

Jenni-Harry4eva3 responds:

That it is. Were it not for the help of my dear friend Marks-A-Lot, it wouldn't have turned out this way :) We def work well together lol.

old school

your structure is good. the build-up is smooth and nothing is too repetitive. i dislike the pitch change effect. it's just too obnoxious, haha

good work, though. love that sub

Lucovic responds:

Thanks a lot, im glad to see that my changes paid off :P

a few problems

you never want dance influences to be mixed with drum and bass. when you have electro-like melodies, it really takes away from the feel of dnb. your bass is incredibly high and a bit too plain (needs more of a raw noise, more fine adjustments).

and your drums are obviously fl studio. when you produce professional tracks, you don't want default program samples to be heard. i suggest finding real breaks and cutting them up with the fruity slicer, or making realistic drums by layering, compressing, and changing pitches.

hope this helps

ambiguousMAN responds:

I was always unsure as to what genre this song was but thought DnB was the closest at the time of the upload. It was more me making a song and calling it DnB, not me try to make a DnB song specifically from the start D:

I will try to change the genre since I now know it isn't really a DnB song, maybe it's dance like you said? ("you never want 'dance influences' to be mixed with drum and bass")

Thanks for the review! It did help a lot for both categorizing the song and for when I make DnB songs in the future (will try not to use default snares).

flows well

yeah, it flows really well. i really like the pad/strings you used, but it's dissapointing how the whole track generally remains static. whever your drop is, it's almost unnoticable.

you claim there's a sub bass as well, but i can't hear it even with my awesome speakers and subwoofer. something's wrong about that. look up "metrik - your world" because if you can make a bass more like that, it would fit in so much better.

worth a 5. nice stuff

Jenni-Harry4eva3 responds:

Yep. I know. I've listened to metrik - your world before. Maybe I will. I'll think about it. Thanks though.

i'm offended

this is brilliant

Quarl responds:

maw

original

what i take this as is a mix of tribal elements, glitch, techno, and pretty much everything. however, this isn't drum and bass. you're lucky people here aren't so picky.

no points off for the wrong genre, it's just opinion. it has a nice build, but it's just a bit too chaotic once it all comes together.

Bobert-Rob responds:

Well, the percussion is strong enough for me to consider it part of drum n' bass. Or I figured, since there's a lot of percussion and some of the synths are kind of bass-like. I honestly don't know where it'd fit into more, so I just figured it'd fit in there best. There really should be multiple genre options, like having a secondary option for pieces that mix styles together. Glad you enjoyed what you did of it!

professional

so professional considering this is just a newgrounds track. there's so much liquid dnb here, but this just tops everything. those drums are perfect, carrying the beat and flowing so well with your other elements.

i mostly love your transitions. everything gently flows from one part to another. it's almost as if nothing is sudden, so it's a whole piece.

i completely disagree with the review below me, too. this is worth a lot more than a 7, and i'm giving a vote of 5 as well. nice work, man.

alextheDJ responds:

Thanks man! I appreciate it!
