plain

sorry, i'm not really feeling the melody. it just remains pretty calm through the whole thing. work on that

and this is breaktrance, not dnb

Equation responds:

my appoligies i shall put it in the "breaktrance" genre next time apart from there isn't one... dickhead

as it says in my author comments "A soft Drum N Bass song"

sick

now that is fuckin dubstep, haha

smooth

i love those punchy drums, but they sit in the background too much. make them louder, man. try to avoid panning with drums, too. your bass also is more electro-like, so fix that

kjhsdgf responds:

hmm, good stuff.
i'll submit a version that doesn't pan the drums ( thought it would be nice sounding) and see how people like it.
electro, huh? well i'll see if i can make a better bass noise.
thanks for the review!

nice breaks

add a bass, bro. that's what this track craves

Acid-Paradox responds:

it has a bass

:3

thanks!!!

minor problems

make your drums louder and seriously add a bass. even liquid dnb (what you have) requires one. some sub might be good. there's so much you can do to this, which is an already fantastic track

i would love to remix this if you don't plan on using my suggestions

combatplayer responds:

nice.. its always nice with constructive reviews. and i do actualy have a bass.but no a DnB bass. i dont even think that is the right catagory for this. its a lil more breakbeat-ish but well. imnot good at making DnB basses in FL. i tried some times but i cant seem to get them right ._. and ofcurse you can remix it if u want. maybe i will too some time.

soundtrack

this reminds me a hell of a lot of ratchet and clank game soundtrack haha. really soothing yet strange melody

nice work, just make your drums a shitload louder

SonicJ responds:

Louder eh? I'll keep that in mind for next time :p

good first attempt

your drum beat is a little too messy. try to keep it more structured since random and glitchy variations don't work. i also feel that your bass is so static, since it just acts as a background noise. the trance overflow to it should be in the background instead man

impressive

wow, there's actually real dubstep here. this actually has a great atmospheric feel to it. i don't exactly know what you're going for, but making your drums louder would probably help. i also thing your bass seems a bit too plain, but that's just opinion

yeah, good work, man

Reignee responds:

cheers for the comment m8, that's exacly what i'm going for. some atmospheric dubstep, with a dark bassline. I fixed the drums in the newer version, and added some reese to one of the bass parts, the other one seemed just plain dark & fine :)

decent

yeah, this is a decent remix, but there's still a lot of errors with it. your drums are incredibly light, just not what i feel suits the rest of the content. make your snares and kicks harder, and remove that pan effect because it's really an ear-sore, sorry

removing that background noise whenever your drop is supposed to be would help a hell of a lot (it's just basic sound theory to remove it, but it will sound better). it just calms the track too much

and if you're really going for drum and bass here, this needs some better bass to go with it besides that three-note noise you currently have. a rough, gritty noise will suit it a lot more

it's decent, man

Godge responds:

Thanks for the in-depth review :)

The pan effect was supposed to be some kind of air-mastering type thing, but seeing as I only had Audacity at the time it didn't really turn out how I wanted to, so I definitely appreciate what you're saying there.

As for that annoying background noise, I didn't actually notice that at the time but someone pointed it out to me after I submitted it so I might have to remove that at some point.

I know what you're saying about the bass line, but at the time I was just trying to work with sounds I could cut from the two songs rather than adding any new elements of my own, but it would sound better with some proper bass in there.

Thanks again

messy

all your trance elements completely overpower the drums. when everything drops, it really doesn't sound too powerful either. i definitely suggest adding some sharp hats. the snare you currently have seems too splashy and i don't think it fits in all that well. your actually melody is great, however

what you have is breaktrance, to be specific

Unrl responds:

Sweet cheers for the crit, i'll try fix those up
